The Intense Vengeance of Ignazio Ikuto

The final installment of Ignazio Ikuto series is here. The male lead is all ready to reveal himself. The man is Ignazio Ikuto. I began with a photoshoot with my friend Humberto, the original influence for Ignazio Ikuto. He really achieved the intense mood that I wanted for this picture, thats why I choose an up close shot. The outrageous wig is, I know a little goofy but the mood was still accomplished. I needed him to be an intense male character like some of our favorite film characters. I really leaned influence from The Dark Knight, 300 and Iron Man. After the Shoot, I began my cleaning up and in photoshop.

I next began cleaning up the hair strands that pick up some of the white from the original photograph. That was a bit on the rough side to accomplish but it was great practice. The next step was to add the shadows on the face and darken the shadows within the coat. I did this to help to the mood further along. I wanted his tone to of course be like the rest of the pics but I wanted his to be a little more similar to Bellerphron Barrow.

The next steps were to cleanup to rest of the strands of hair. Next I darkened some of the outside strands to intensify (Gotta admit, I like the intense) things. I next had to get rid of the reflection in the sun glasses. Making the highlights of the hair brighter was the next touch to Ignazio and was perfect for the hair. In the end the intensity, hint of misery and darkness was achieved. So then I added the font, quote and movie title. This is the man that this image series began and was created for. Ignazio Ikuto everyone!!

The Goofy Elegance of Aminah Alphonsine

Here comes the next addition of the Ikuto Series. This character is the female lead and the most enjoyable one. I of course began with a photoshoot with my friend Tiffany as the model. All I can say is that the playfulness came out really well. I wanted her to be a fun standout like some of the coolest female characters in other films. When I was done taking the picture I next brought it into photoshop.

Next came some of the touches within the body. I added a little blush in the cheeks and a nice sparkle in the eyes. Just wanted the character to pop and give a cute but unique look. After all she is the playful part of the tone of the Ikuto series. I had to add the hint of darker shadows on the image to go with the atmosphere of the Ikuto series. I used many layer effects and brush strokes to effect the lighting of the character.

So in the end I had to add the final shadows and darkness within the body. The tattoo was the final touch for the image itself. That was a little bit of a situation, I mean trying not to make it look too fake. Of Course crazy energy lights are fake but you get the jest. LOL Then I added the font, quote and movie title. This crazy goof is... Aminah Alphonsine.

Logo Lunacy

These are a compilation of logos I have created for numerous projects and design practice. I use Adobe Photoshop and a hint of Illustrator to create these design pieces. The First set here is for a compositing project I had worked on with a friend. The logo was suppose to represent a young guy put in 3D world type environment. I thought the basic colors of red and blue could represent a simple look, but with the addition of the green cubes, help the logo pop. The silhouette adds the human touch of the character within the project the logo is meant for. The bottom one is the one I have leaned towards more.

The next logo is meant for another compositing video project I worked on with a group of friends. The video was aimed for the horror genre and so I needed the logo to fulfill that feeling. So I went for the contrasting values of black and white. But of course have the letters themselves have a little messiness and slight chaos, with the extra particles around the logo. Not to mention the slashed looking underline.

The next set is just to give myself some design
practice. I chose to do a holiday cause everyone knows about holidys and I selected my favorite one, which is Halloween. It was especially fun to find the cool edginess that Halloween deserves. For the first one I went the crescent moon and decided to give it a crooked but sharp edges, with stars on the outside of it. Adding the yellow was a splashy touch to give the logo a hint of color. For the font on both I thought going for a classic but Gothic look was the best choice. The cat was a traditional choice but adding the sharp look adds to the flavor of the entire design. I added the line under the cat because it gave the impression of the cat being on a solid plane, like a stalker of the night.

The last design was for a friend who is into film and wanted to call his aspiring company Quack Productions. I started with the duck character and went for a fun and goofy font that complemented the duck. The color was to match the ducks beak. The first letter of the logo was a little hard to decide on but when I thought of quack one more time I decided to make the Q a duck shape. It all seemed to work out and was a fun productions logo.

Cold Consciousness of Bellerophon Barrow

So this is next in the Ignazio Ikuto Series. By now the process should have been well stated. He is the next big obstacle to Ignazio Ikuto. And within this photo had began with myself as the model. It was a photoshoot and this one was the photo chosen. I know the pig hat is pretty ridiculous but hey its fun.

I had to add the darkness around the body and take away the sharpness all around the body of the character. Next was within the shadows on the face such as the dark bags under the eyes. The inspiration for this character was all the villains and sort of characters we love to hate with a hint of silliness, which would be the hat.

And finally was the final darkness and shadows that complete the effect of a villain. I had to give the pig hat a cool look because the pig is an important aspect to this character. I was really getting influence from characters like Lex Luthor, Vicious and The Joker. The name was the hardest part to come up with, all the other characters was not so hard to do but this character had me thinking. His name came to be Bellerophon Barrow, the bad ass boss of a black market crime crew with the mysterious pig hat who offers assistance. He has the conceded personalty of a villain and the cold heart. I had fun posing for the picture and working on the photoshop work.

Death after Negative Nova

This is another addition to the Ignazio Ikuto series. He was created to be Ignazio's opponent and constant problem. These movie/character posters are influenced by the promotional movie posters for films such as The Spirit, Star Trek and The Dark Knight. I began with a photoshoot with my little brother and we turned out with this image. Once I had the image I worked with Adobe photoshop and created a black back drop. Same as the previous image. This character uses funky looking guns so that's why he is holding an odd gun.

Now was to add the dark shadows on his face and gun. He is a dark character so to add harsh shadows seemed to be the best choice. Not to forget the gun, I added the red glow of the gun. There are many layers on top of layers that make the harsh shadow and the red glow. I added multiple effects on the image to add harsh light. It helps the image pop instead of it being dull.

Now was to add the rest of the red glows effect. Showing the movement of the gun. When I added that I knew I needed to add a red highlight on the characters face. The last step was to the place the text and name of the character which is... Negative Nova.

The Serious Fire That is Kasen Knight

So to begin this explanation or whatnot, this is another character from the Ignazio Ikuto adventure. I created this to be a serious of character posters for a pretend movie idea. This is the character that is important to Ignazio's past. I begin this with having a little photo shoot with with my friend (posing for this character) and we began with what would be this characters demeanor. After that step was done, Adobe photoshop was the next key. I had to make a black background and change the lighting.

Then came the characters flame attribute. He has this because thats his element I guess. Every character has to have something that defines them and fire is this character's THING. So I created the fire in Photoshop and layered it with different kind of effects and whatnot. The light that the flames would emit had to be shown on some of the clothing and on his skin so that was also placed on.

Finally the completed character/movie poster for the character Kasen Knight. I had to finally add the completed fire and smoke from the flames. Of course the title of the movie, character and the snazzy font. So in the end it was pretty sweet to work on this image.

Youthful Canvas

I wanted to create a type of illustration that I don't normally do. This was all created from my little cousin Hugo. One day I just woke up and felt like drawing it. It was done all in Photoshop. Line work and inking. I have been thinking about doing more images like this one. It was pretty fun to keep the curious look that kids give. Oh to be that young again. LOL

Ignazio Planetary

So a while back me and my friends were bored and decided to work on a video. It never actually got to go through to completion but in the process a great character came about. His name is Ignazio Ikuto. This is one of the beginning sketches of the character. Not my favorite drawing. It all started with this goofy wig I bought. My friend Humberto tossed it on and ideas began to spill out. With all the things we were spit balling,(one of the things being how he is an Italian, Japanese hitman) he evolved to this character.

The next sketch is where I tried for a different style, more of my style to be honest. The previous one was me attempting something different. This is more of a cartoony thing but it works and he still looks like someone to not mess with. It came out how I pictured it and I stuck with this one so I continued with it.

This is a turn around of Ignazio Ikuto. One of the only tough guys to totally pull off purple hair. It was done on paper in sketches and scanned and inked in Adobe Photoshop. It was definitely fun to work on him. Don't meet up with him in any dark alleys.

Chibi Character Rampage

So for quite a bit of time I needed to get back into creating some new drawings or character designing of some kind. I couldn't think of anything new, you know a kind of road block I guess. One thing I always remebered was that I wanted to do character designs based on some of my friends and that's when it hit me. "I'll just do that, but chibi (Small Person/Super deformed) versions of them!" I' have a huge passion for anime, well the good form of anime and chibi like characters are immensely fun to draw.

So I began with my friend Ryan. I always first sketch the drawing out on paper, then ink it in. I prefer using Prismacolor pens/markers. Once all the ink dries off, I have a great time (sarcastic) erasing the left over pencil marks. Scanning the drawing is the next step, then vector-zing it is the next key step for me. Then some good times inking it in color using photoshop. Mess with some effects and what not. BAM!, its done.

Here is one of my friend Humberto.

The next one is my friend Lawrence but we call him Brooklyn. Its fun having nicknames.

This last one is of Humberto's Sister, Nidia.
